We seized the opportunity to enjoy with Youngsup Choi in HOBETUZ headquarter of Bilbao. He is a senior research fellow of Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET) with Ph. D. Degree of economics from Korea university in 1996.
For around twenty years, as a labor economist, he has been involved in diverse research projects mainly focusing on the effective policies of vocational education and training, including the issues of strategic alignment of VET with national economic priority areas, decentralization of VET system, skills needs monitoring and evaluation of VET programs,etc.
He started his job as a researcher in 1997 and has experiences of working in several public research institutes including Korea Cultural Policy Institute (1997-2000), Korea Institute for Industry and Trade (2000-2005) and KRIVET (2006~ ).
Also, he was seconded from KRIVET for two years (2010-2012) to UNESCO Bangkok office as a TVET program specialist to provide upstream policy advice on TVET to policy makers of developing countries in Asia-Pacific region. Therefore it can be said that his research area is not only confined to specifically Korea\’s issues but stretches over Asia-Pacific wide issues such as school-to-work transition
